Spotify not working anymore on all my Google Home devices since this weekend?

Out of the blue this weekend all my Google Home devices (mini, hub and Chromecast) stopped streaming music from Spotify. Tried it with 2 different Spotify accounts which have the same issue. Also with my Samsung I cannot cast Spotify anymore to the devices. Playing spotify on my phone works fine. Youtube seems to be working fine when casting to Chromecast so it seems this is a specific Spotify/Google related issue. Nothing changed in the network or settings this weekend which can have caused it. 

 I have already done the following steps:
1) restarted all Google devices
2) restarted my phone
3) restarted my WiFi access point
None of these steps have fixed the issue. Is this a result of a software update this weekend? Any idea what I can do?

In case you still have the same issue, please reboot your device by unplugging it from the power source to refresh your device settings. If this doesn't work, please update the thread so we can further help.
