Streaming Error on Nest Hub

This morning when asking to stream a radio station,  Assistant suddenly replies with “"I also need to know what device to use. Please try saying that again and include the device name”.

 This function has worked perfectly for years. I’ve changed no settings, added no devices. Literally, nothing has changed except Assistant’s response.

 Anyone else had this?

Same thing is happening on my devices today.  I have reset the internet and restarted devices with no success.  

It's very frustrating. I've factory reset three devices and it has not made any difference.

I too am having the same issue... Just started happening yesterday.  Worked fine prior.  I changed nothing.  Resetting devices and apps have had no affect.

After speaking with some colleagues & family, and reading some of the forum posts here, it seems that many people are having issues with routines and commands that previously worked but now do not. Often this results in being asked by Google Assistant which device they want the command to be executed on.

One of my relatives has issues with mobility and relies on her Nest Hub and voice commands. This is very distressing for her.

Google pushed something because it was working fine for a long while and I didnt change anything.  If home automation or speaker assistants are going to be mainstream, Google has to realize the impact of their updates or changes...  Could be life impacting !!

 

I’ve spent over an hour talking to Google support. Bloody hopeless. Their latest advice is “Gotcha. We'd like to check if the issue is related to your home settings. Could you try creating a new home and setting up your Nest Hub display there? Make sure to do another reset before adding it to your new home. Tech support obviously doesn’t read these forums
