I recently moved to an apartment with a captive portal internet. I am trying to connect my Google Home Mini, but I need the MAC address to register it with my internet provider so that it can connect. The problem is that the MAC address isn't printed on the device, and when I try to go into the Home app and look at the device from the setup at my old apartment, I can't get into the settings. Probably because it's "disconnected".
So how am I supposed to get the MAC address to register my device? To then connect it to my internet?

Hi @favabean05, unfortunately, Nest devices even with the MAC address can't use captive portals and require a secure personal Wifi connection for set up. As for finding MAC address outside of a disconnected app, to my knowledge, it's not possible. You might do better to find a travel router and give that MAC address and connect through the travel router.

Echo devices said the same thing and had a work around. I pay for this internet there’s no reason why I shouldn’t be able to use this device on it.
