I have Google nests around the house but turn off the mics in the bedrooms as its a private space and don't want to be recorded. The mute lights light up the bedroom and blocking then will block the sound.
How do you turn the mic mute lights off? The only reason Google would remove the option of turning mute lights off it to encourage you to leave the mic on. I'm considering selling all my google devices and moving to another alternative as it's a little to invasive and even evil is some ways.

In the Home app , select the device, select settings, select notifications and wellbeing, select night mode, select your times and turn the led brightness all the way down.

This only dims the regular white LEDs, not the orange mute LEDs ..
Hope there's a solution as well, quite annoyed by the orange LEDs.

yes its definitely a setting that is not present. For me I have a stereo pair of Nest Audio and a hub in the same room and I only want one to respond to "hey Google". This needs a setting and I am seeing a lot of posts about people being frustrated by this. C'mon Google your customers are asking for this.

I'd also like to turn the mute lights off. Interestingly, such a setting exists for the Nest Wifi (see the section at the bottom, "Turn off the mute light on the Nest Wifi point"):

I came here looking for a solution to this problem as well. I am surprised it is not already possible. It is very annoying especially since they chose such a glaring color.

For what it's worth, I followed the instructions in the Reddit post below to physically disconnect the ribbon that powers the lights in my Nest Audios:
https://reddit.com/r/googlehome/comments/kmecyb/how_to_open_a_google_nest_audio_to_disconnect_the/
It would be preferable to just toggle a setting in the app, but since that's not an option this is the next best thing. It wasn't hard to do and is reversible.
Edit: In case the link gets deleted in the future, here's the post:
So I use these speakers only as casting targets. I don't use voice assistants so my Nest Audio is always on mute. The red LEDs are obnoxious though. You can open a Nest Audio by pulling hard on the front shell. It is installed like a regular speaker grill but a lot tighter.
Be careful with the top ribbion cable! Flip up the black plastic latch to disconnect the cable.
[Then] you can disconnect the leds by unplugging that ribbon as well.
Alternatively you could use electrical tape to dim the leds even more, when permanently in night mode you wouldn't see the red leds but you would see the white ones when adjusting the volume.
Thats all, have fun.
