Unable to Pair MacBook Air with Google Nest Hub

WebbO615

Hi everyone,

I've attempted to pair my MacBook air with my Google Nest Hub via the Google home app, but the following message is displayed when I try through the paired devices menu; ' Unable to enable device pairing'. I can connect to the Nest through my computer's bluetooth but no audio appears to be coming through. Any help in this area would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi WebbO615,

Thank you for posting here in the community. I'm sorry that you are unable to connect your MacBook Air with your Nest Hub. This could be frustrating, especially if you try to use your Nest Hub as a speaker and it is not working. Helps here.

For this concern, please follow these good articles on how to connect third-party smart devices. There are good options for pairing the devices. Also, follow the below steps to pair the device with your third-party directly here:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold the tile of your speaker.
  3. Tap the Settings menu > Audio > Paired Bluetooth devices > Enable pairing mode.

You should then see your speaker appear in the Bluetooth settings of your Mac. You may need to "forget" the speaker in your Mac's Bluetooth's settings to repair successfully.

Let me know if this was helpful.

Regards,

Byron
