Volume sensor lights won’t turn off.

I have a several Google Nest Minis (the former Google Home mini speaker V2 with the wall hanger on the back.)

One unit is running firmware 306594 and whenever it is playing anything, the small led lights that indicate where where the volume +/- sensors are will not turn off.  It doesn’t matter if it’s just playing alone or part of a group.  This wouldn’t be a huge problem  except it’s in my bedroom.

I noticed that it was set to receive preview updates unlike another speaker that is still on an older fw.

What can I do?

This is happening to me as well. Whenever I have music on, the two lights on either side are just on and won't turn off. It's severely disrupting my sleep. Rebooting doesn't help, unplugging doesn't either.

Hey Srgilbert1,

Thanks for sharing the photo. Could you try turning off the ultrasound sensing feature and check if it will have the same behavior.

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Select the device card of the speaker or display.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings > Recognition and sharing > Ultrasound sensing.
  4. Swipe the slider to the left to turn off.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Ultrasound sensing is not on. When I turn it on and off it goes away, but since it's not on, it shouldn't be doing that.

Hey SiofraRinn,

Please proceed with resetting your Nest Mini. On the side of your device, switch the mic off. The lights will turn orange. Press and hold the center of the Nest Mini, where the lights are on top. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi
