Hi my nest mini stops playing white noise a few hours after starting now over night. It used to play all night and I'd have to stop it in the morning.
I wake up and have to start it again. This is though a voice command. No routines have been added, so it wouldn't be that.
Thoughts?

I tested with another speaker, worked perfectly, just with the command play White noise.
I factory reset this nest mini that was not working, and last night the white noise player all night like it's supposed to. Very strange that it would take a factory reset. But that seems to have done it.
Thanks for the help!

Does it happen every night or just some nights? When did it happen for the first time?

It's every night, probably a week or so ago. I thought it may have been happening because I started using a routine based on time to start it, but removed the routine and it's still happening.

Super weird. Wish I could help 😞

Thanks. Yeah it's bizarre.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Sorry to hear that you're having issues with using white noise on your Google Nest speakers. A few things I'd like to ask-- when did you notice this? How long does you usually play the white noise?
Kindly list down the exact commands that you're using whenever you ask your speakers to play white noise. Lastly, let's test out other ambient sounds so we can check if this is only happening when playing white noise or other ambient sounds.
Keep me posted.
Best,
Princess

Hi
I noticed this a week or two ago.
The command I use is "Play White Noise"
It used to play when we issued the command at bed, anywhere from about 11pm until the alarm at 7am when the radio routine starts. Now it ends around 2am.
I'll try other ambient noises and see what happens.

Sorry, I've been away, going to try it tonight. I'll update

Hi bsawler,
Thanks for the info. Let's also try this command to see if this will work. Say "OK Google, play white noise" as soon as it confirmed that it is playing, say "OK Google, set sleep timer for X hours".
Let us know if it works.
Best,
Princess

Setting the sleep timer did not change the behaviour. The white noise player for 5 hours then stopped.
I'll try this on another one of my devices to see what happens. I expect the same thing.

Hey bsawler,
Thanks for the update. It looks like the issue is isolated to white noise only. Could you try asking the Google Assistant app on your phone to play white noise on your speaker and check if you will have the same issue.
Keep us posted.

Muddi

I determined the issue. My last update to my mesh wireless had a new default setting enabled to restart wireless at 3am. Which is why it wasn't affecting my phone, and why the ambient noise worked during all my other tests. Can't believe I hadn't thought to check that. Well since I never set it, I understand why.... Thanks for helping my chase this down.

Hey bsawler,
Glad to hear that! Good thing that you were able to remember the changes that you've made on your router. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.

I spoke too soon. It's back to only playing for 5 hours for some reason. I'll try another ambient noise today to see what happens.

I tried fireplace sounds and it played for 10 hours today. I stopped it. Same nest mini.
