Since Google Nest does not have a way to update Wi-Fi settings on many Google Nest devices, the easiest way is to set the network name (SSID) and password on your new router/modem to the same values used on your old Wi-Fi router/modem.  Then you don't have to update any of your devices.  That's what we did when we got a new router/modem.

If you can't do that, then the general process is to remove your Google Nest devices from the Google Nest app or Google Home app, do a factory reset of each device, update your Wi-Fi network, and reinstall your devices:

Hi Bhoney16,

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Have you checked MplsCustomer’s response with the provided link to follow? How was it? You can also follow the steps below if you can't open the link.

Set up your speaker or display on the new Wi-Fi network:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top left, tap Add > Set up device > New device > set up new devices in your home.
  3. Follow the in-app steps.

If these steps don’t solve the issue, you’ll need to factory reset your speaker or display, then set it up again.

If your speaker or display is connected to an existing Wi-Fi network, but you'd like to connect it to a new one, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. At the top-right corner, tap Settings > Device information.
  4. Next to 'Wi-Fi', tap Forget. You’ll be taken back to the Home app home screen.
  5. Follow the setup steps to set up your device on the new Wi-Fi network.

If you get an error message that says 'could not communicate with your [device]' when you try to forget your network, or the steps above don't work, you'll need to factory reset your device and set it up again.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Dan
