Wrong Time When Setting Alarms

johnjgalbo

Not sure if I'm in the right section for this, so please move/let me know...

In the past few days we've been having a strange issue setting alarms. For example I will ask to set an alarm for 11am, but Google responds that it is setting the alarm for tomorrow at 6am. What's stranger is when I ask what time it is, it is still accurate.

Has anyone run into this issue? If so is there a solution? I already tried changing my home address in Google Assistant.

As I stated in my first comment I reset to factory settings and reset my home address as @0090GEOWS   pointed out.  I find it to be difficult to believe that this is an insignia issue when the problem appears to be with the google assistant.

Same thing here, just starting to research it but haven’t found a solution yet.  Will update if I do.

Same here. It sets it for 19 hours after the time you request! I can’t seem to locate a solution and tried updating the home address and factory resetting the device. Neither worked.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about your alarm concerns. Let me help you. A few questions: what Google Nest speakers or displays are we working with? Were there any recent changes made? Which country are you contacting us from?

I look forward to your responses.

Regards,

Juni

Hi Juni,

Contacting from US. My device is a third-party from Best Buy: Insignia™ - Voice™ Smart Portable Bluetooth Speaker and Alarm Clock with Google Assistant. No changes have been made. This issue occurred within the past couple of weeks.

Hi johnjgalbo,

Thanks for the details you’ve shared. You can try the factory reset; this erases all your personalized settings and restores the factory default settings. It won’t automatically reconnect to WI-Fi, and you’ll need to set it up again. Check out their website for more information on how to do it.

Best,

Juni

Did you not read what he wrote or is this Google AI not paying attention. "I can’t seem to locate a solution and tried updating the home address and factory resetting the device. Neither worked. "

Hi everyone,

We appreciate your efforts, and we're sorry for the inconvenience. Since it's happening with your Insignia device, it's best to contact them for additional support. Please note that we have very limited support for third-party speakers with built-in Google Assistants like Insignia.

Thanks,

Juni

@Juni I can't speak for everyone here, but I don't believe this is localized just towards my Insignia device... sounds like more of a Google Assistant issue.

@Stage66 @Archo @CDalbeck @KellyAnn correct me if I'm wrong, but do any of you have the same device as I do, or is your issue on another device?

Mine is actually the same device I am afraid.

I agree. How does one glitch in Google Assistant equate to “It’s Insignia’s fault?” Sounds like someone’s trying to pass the buck.

Same issue. I missed two important appointments. I have to set my alarm for 1pm, if I need to get up at 7am..SO FRUSTRATING...

I am also having this issue.  I reported it but nothing  happened.  Extremely frustrating.  I have multiple google devices (10+) and 1 Alexa device. I must say Alexa stepped up her game and gives me way less trouble then Google AI.  I rather stay with Google but if this cant be fixed I'm out.
