I am bringing this up since there is no solution in any of the many other posts on this matter.
I've asked the assistant on several Nest devices and my phone for a song, and it almost always plays the wrong version of it.
For instance - Let's Live For Today by the Grass Roots - the result is the original artist re-recording, or Baby Shark by Pinkfong - the result is either the Vietnamese version (although we are NOT in Vietnam, nor we speak it) or an EDM remix.
I have factory reset some devices, unlinked them, and then relined the Spotify premium account.
I'm giving the command: "Okay, Google, play Let's Live For Today / the original version of Let's Live For Today / Baby Shark, the original version of Baby Shark."Both bring the aforementioned wrong versions.
I've also tried "Okay, Google, play the album version of Let's Live For Today / play the 1967 version of Let's Live For Today," the result was the entire album, not just the song.
Sadly, the solutions previously offered (factory reset, unlinking-relinking) are as helpful as flogging a dead horse - much like sending feedback and telling the assistant this is the wrong version 😞
Sincerely,
Amit

Hello Nachbar,
Thanks for voicing your concerns in the community.
Not being able to play the specific songs you want via assistant is not what you expect. Let's dig in deeper.
Thank you for your dedication in getting the most out of your Nest Mini. We're committed to providing the best possible user experience, and your feedback is invaluable. Since by submitting feedback, you're helping us refine how Google Assistant handles music requests, ensuring they're even more accurate and tailored to your preferences.
I want to know, have you had the same experience with other music services? it would be great to know as well if the google account in your phone and Google home are the same account.
In the meantime as a workaround you can try to create a playlist that contains an specific song you don't seem to be able to play and try asking for that playlist instead, please let me know if you're able to play these songs that way via voice command.
Let me know what you find out.
Regards,
Angel.

Dear Angel,
Thank you for your reply.
I will indeed try the playlist option 🙂
I have not tried other music services (since I am not subscribed to any other service). I use the same account for all of my Google devices, and the (wrong) response by the assistant is the same on all of them.
Hope this would help you helping me 🙂
Sincerely,
Amit

Hi pleasefixassit,
Thank you for your post and insights for this inconvenience about the commands for the Google Assistant. I understand how important the Google Assistant is to you, and I appreciate the effort of trying all the possible troubleshooting steps. Let's check together other options.
I just want to confirm. Did you try the above steps presented to verify if the issue still persists?
In the mean time, please try these additional steps:
Update Assistant Language:
Important: Your current region determines the language by default.
Please keep me posted. I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Byron

Hello - Let me echo the issue here so it is very clear.
I have multiple Google devices. "Reinstalling" as a suggestion is not possible other than to factory reset every device I have and update it. But this is naive and lacks thought at best.
A month or so ago if you used the command "Hey google, Play Baby shark by Pink Fong on Spotify" it selected the english version of the song. I issue this command multiple times a week as I have a small child. Recently, the same command defaults to the Vietnamese version of the song.
I believe Google needs to answer this unless someone in the community has intimate knowledge of how the songs are selected given that the voice command has not changed and it is unlikely the parsing of the command has as well.
