Hey all,
Apologies for the confusion around the supported devices for speaker groups. We let the right teams know, and we can confirm that speakers with Chromecast built-in are supported. We've also updated the list of supported devices on our Help Center article "Create and manage speaker groups" to make it more specific than before.
Thanks for your feedback here in the community -- feel free to update the thread if you have any further questions!
Cheers,
Muddi

Hey folks,
Sorry for the delayed response. Please note that there are selected TVs that are compatible or can be added to the speakers group with your Google Home/Nest devices. You may want to check with your manufacturer if your TV is one of those devices.
For now, we can only guarantee that the devices listed on this link will work best when grouped together.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hi, can't add my 2021 Sony XR65A80JAEP to the speakers group. TV soft is up to date.

Hi all,
Like you I was looking for a solution for integrating my two philips android TV's in a speakergroup. Can confirm that after manually updating Chromecast Built-in (Android TV) to 1.68.369458 it's now working.
Downloaded the APK from apkmirror. Used the app 'send files to TV' from the play store to send the APK from my phone to the TV. Installed/Updated the APK on the TV by using a filebrowser (also multiple available in the play store). After a reboot of the TV it showed up as available item in the speakergroup menu.
Hope this helps others.

This is a known workaround which was discussed here already. You still end up with delay, which you can't adjust in the app.

Hi,
No delay noticed here. However, the delay could also be related to network infrastructure or hardware used.
Furthermore, you are right about settings. You don't have delay settings for the TV's

I’m glad it’s resolved now. I’ll keep this thread open for one more day. If you need further help, let me know.

You should let thr thread open!
The TV is not usable as a speaker with no delay settings! This need to be fixed! The delay for the other speakers is only adjustable in the wrong direction...

By what definition is this fixed?! The only workaround involves sideloading an apk and they still doesn't give you full functionality.

Yes we need further help....how to set the delay for the TV in the home app? Should be a simple answer if it's resolved now.
Best regards

I want to use my TCL TV with Chromecast built in, and it won't let me make a speaker group as well.

Hi 1up4evr,
Thanks for the info you've shared. There are TVs that are compatible with setting it up on a speaker group. Could you provide the make and model of your TV?

I totally understand. Have you already checked your TV manufacturer about its compatibility? It looks like it's limiting only your TV since the speaker group is working with other speakers.
