so about a week or so ago for some reason my google home devices won't tell me the time. i have 2 minis and a nest I think. I do have crap cheap internet and there can be times I can't use voice at all .have WiFi devices galore but when I can use them they refuse to tell me the time or weather only. I have tried hey or ok but same . so what happens on the nest device the lights go round and round but then go out after maybe a minute. the minis the lights go across backwards and forwards then also stop after a minute. I tried rebooting everything but problem persists. I read maybe a reset is in order but would that mean I would have to re pair everything?

same here, assistance said it's a bug, they are working on it but non date of resolution. It'a big trouble, fear i'll need to switch to Alexa Echo

oh **bleep** what a pain. thanks for telling me . gee google home nest and minis have so many issues. do u also get several of them answer u sometimes? mine does answer some things. just not the time and weather

Same here but a bit more confusing. In addition to time and weather GH also will not play music or start tunein nor will it run automations. The same applies to my phone (S23+) so I don't think the problem is limited to speakers. GH will control most of my smart devices through smartthings but not all. In addition, when using android auto with google maps I cannot get navigation instructions but it works when using Waze. Also reported this to Google Support but have received no response.

wow thats worse than whats happening to me. my phone seems to be ok but about a week ago the phone did start to respond to me saying ok google but also asking me to unlock to complete the command. so it overrode what i wanted the nest to do. now also sometimes the other google home minis respond to a command i did in the loungeroom and not the glosest one. also i noticed when i set alarms they are all getting confused. i will set the alarm in the loungeroom but it goes off via another mini down the other end of my place. so frustrating, the problems seem to be mounting. i have a samsung too and smart things installed so i wonder if there is a conflict. i only have a samsung washer connected to it though. i havent tried to navigate since all this crap started happening but thanks for the tip if google maps starts to misbehave. i dont use the auto app as i am on a bicycle. unsure its useful in that circumstance

Same here. Stopped working on 12/30. Rebooting does not fix. Factory reset does not fix.
01-02-2025 07:16 AM
oh bummer. yeah i rebooted and read factory setting might be a solution but i doubted it so thanks for the confirmation
01-01-2025 09:32 AM
waste of time to try to fix, we can only wait and pray...
01-02-2025 07:16 AM

01-02-2025 06:49 AM

01-02-2025 07:45 AM
Same here
01-02-2025 07:22 AM
Hope they'll fix soon but i'm skeptical,it's a great bug, otherwise it would have been already solved.
I will wait a month, then i will switch to other competitors

I'll stay as long as possible. It would be way to expensive to exchange all my devices 😅

It's shocking that someone lets cowboys shooting from the hip straight into production.
Google should be ashamed of themselves...
01-03-2025 04:42 AM
🤣
It's not a big deal for me yet... I only use the devices rarely and most of the time they work okish 😅
01-03-2025 05:22 AM

Hey all,
We're aware of the reports of Google Assistant commands not working as expected. Thank you for your patience while the team looks into it and works on a fix.
01-04-2025 11:46 AM
Definitely not resolved as noted below. A single command can cause all sorts of unwanted actions across multiple speakers, devices, lights, switches -- pure chaos.
01-04-2025 04:21 PM
yes agree. it will also work for a while then a while later its doing the things you said. definitely not solved

still highs and lows,we must wait any longer
01-04-2025 04:28 PM
yes me too. its like this bug doesn't wanna go

For the past couple of days I've been having this issue with all my Nest hub devices in the house. None of them are responding almost all the time to common questions or commands like asking for weather, playing white noise or turning off smart lights etc. Anyone aware if this is a know issue and whether there is any ETA on a fix for this. It's been pretty frustrating to use these and my whole house is wired with them so any help with this would be truly appreciated.

Same issue here. Been like it for a few days now.

Same here, all Google devices, even my phone, have this problem. That is, ONLY when I start my request with "Hey Google". When I start Assistant with a press of the microphone button or even in my car with the button on the steering wheel, the exact same assistant light comes on and I get an immediate answer, no delay or anything.

This seems like the same problem as in Rapattack's thread. As I posted over there:
Same here but a bit more confusing. In addition to time and weather GH also will not play music or start tunein nor will it run automations. The same applies to my phone (S23+) so I don't think the problem is limited to speakers. Same here. Yesterday all of my minis hubs and audios stopped responding to basic queries. Sometimes they will do basic home control, but if I ask for the weather for a search or the time of day, or music, it will just spin endlessly without responding. I even went so far as to delete my home. And recreate a new one. I factory reset all the devices and added them back one by one. But they all still suffer from the same problem.
01-01-2025 07:42 PM
Same issue for me.
01-01-2025 08:12 PM
So it's not just my devices. S22+ phone responds but 3 assistant devices do not other than turn a light on or off. Related to last google home update?
