google home mini connection issue

I tried everything it's been 2 days

1. Basic Checks: Internet Connection: Ensure your Google Home Mini and your phone/device (where you're using the Google Home app) are connected to the internet and have a stable Wi-Fi connection. Restart Router/Modem: Unplug your router/modem, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait for it to fully restart before trying to reconnect your Google Home Mini. Google Home App Update: Make sure the Google Home app on your phone is up to date. 2. Google Account: Verify Account: Open the Google Home app, go to "Settings," then "Linked accounts," and confirm you're using the same account on the app and the Google Home Mini. 3. Device Specific: Check Microphone: In the Google Home app, go to the device settings, and ensure the microphone is not muted (check for a crossed-out microphone icon). Unplug and Plug Back In: Unplug the Google Home Mini, wait for a few seconds, and plug it back in to force a restart. Hard Reset: If the issue persists, you can try a hard reset. Locate the factory reset button (a small circle etched into the base) and press and hold it for about 10 seconds until you hear a sound confirming the reset. 4. Other Troubleshooting: Check for Interference: Ensure there are no other devices (like microwaves, wireless speakers) causing interference with your Wi-Fi signal. Uninstall/Reinstall App: Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app. Connect to Google WiFi: If you have a Google WiFi network, try connecting your phone to the Google WiFi signal during the setup process. Check Local Network Access: If you're using iOS, ensure the Google Home app has access to the local network.

Hi @Mellowdy!

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that your Google Home Mini stopped responding to certain questions a few days ago. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Just to understand the problem in more detail, do you experience connection issues when asking a question to your device?
  • Are you getting any error messages?
  • Is your Google Home Mini successfully set up?
  • Does the speaker respond but give a wrong answer or does it not respond completely?
  • Is there an LED light on your device? If so, what color is it?
  • What language do you use on your Google Home Mini?
  • Have you recently made any changes to your Wi-Fi network?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi
