Using the 8V old doorbell cables, I installed the Nest Doorbell (battery Gen 2) last weekend.
The installation process proved to be quite simple, and the provided documentation was of high quality.
The functioning of the doorbell is not broken.

The event recording is not functional. I think I completed all the setup instructions, including designating a zone, to enable it. But there are no incidents that are being noted.
Google Aware is now operational. I also have a Google Nest Cam, which functions flawlessly.

Why does my doorbell not record events?

Which Nest Aware subscription do you have, Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus?  Is it for the same Google Nest "home/structure" as your doorbell?

If you go to your doorbell in the Google Home app and go to Settings | Video | Video history, which option is checked?
