"video paused, keep watching?" on hub screen YouTube

When watching longer videos (i.e. 10 hours background noise during work), the video will stop about every 40 minutes and require me to press a button to continue. Absolutely infuriating and there doesn't seem to be an option for it anywhere, let alone much discussion online. Saw a few conversations. 

It's not happening on all videos, either. It's intermittent, and can even happen or not happen on different viewings of the same video. It's not even getting my attention for advertisements, just making my experience worse, so what is the point of this feature? Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks for posting and sorry to hear about this situation. YouTube asks, “Continue watching?” to protect your watch history and help make sure you don't use internet data if you're not actually watching YouTube. Here you have some articles related to this:
