sleep monitor starts over if I get up in the middle o f the night

If I go to bed around midnight, sleep monitor starts ok, but if I get up ( maybe for a drink of water ) at e.g. 04.00, when I wake around 08.00 my sleep data says I slept for 4 hours ... i.e. It restarts from 04.00.

How do I adjust the settings for this?

That would make it worthless for me, since I get up at least once every night.
