timebased verbally given trigger

Community Member

my smartplug JoJo needs to be turned on at a certain verbally given time.
E.g. Turn on JoJo at 14:20
if is say Turn on JoJo it works if i say 'Turn on JoJo at 14:20' it does not work ?!?!
Als i have a routine 'Switch on JoJo2' where JoJo2 is also a smartplug
This one has to have a delay of 1 minute before switching on so if set it in a routine
"Turn on JoJo2 at 14:20'  should switch on 14:21
The trigger is verbally 'Turn on JoJo2 '
The action is "wait 1 minute then switch on JoJo2"
That does not work either.

Anyone an idea on how to get this done?

Hi @El_Antonio,

Thanks for reaching out and providing detailed information. I understand that you are encountering some issues turning on your smart plug JoJo utilizing the voice commands, and that your routine is taking a minute longer on the other JoJo smart plug. I'm here to help you find a solution together.

To assist you further, please attempt the following questions:

  • Have you experienced any power outages in your area?
  • Is this a personal or household routine?
  • Do you see an entry in the Home app feed for the routine running?
  • Is the Activate Routine toggle enabled?
  • Is your personal result on?
  • Are both your Google Home app and smartphone operating system up to date?
  • Can the action be performed with the Google Home app or Assistant voice command?
  • What model of your Google Home device is it?
  • Do you use any app for your JoJo's smart plug? If it is, is this app updated?

In the meantime, you can follow these articles:

Additionally, you do this basic troubleshooting:

  • Make sure your device is linked to the same account and the same wifi.
  • Open the Google Home app, then tap the device of the preferred speaker or display.
  • Tap setting, select audio, then Hey Google sensitivity.
  • Use the slider to raise or lower the device's sensitivity to make it more or less responsive to Hey Google.

Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.

Best Regards,

Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for taking the effort, but I think there is some misunderstanding of the problem, I probably was not clear enough in the description.

I use the Google-Nest Mini (429109 / 3.73.429109) and it works for all routines. But now I want to create new routines.
I want to make a routing that after starting waits 1 minute to start the next action eg.

routine JoJo2

Action: Wait 1 minute

Action: Switch on plug JoJo2

and I want to make an routine that I can start at a non-predefined time.
routine JoJoTime:

Action: Switch on plug JoJo

And say “Hey Google Start JoJoTime at 15:25” to start the routine at 15:25.

I can’t get neither of these 2 things working on my Nest Mini.
The questions therefore are:
How to put a pause in the actions of a routine?
How to tell my Google nest to start a routine at a non-preprogrammed certain time?

Best rgds,
Ton

Hi Jeremy @ cifuentesj,

Already a bright idea on:

How do I tell google to start at 15:30?

 and the other question:
How do I enter a “wait 1 minute” action into automation routine?

This for caring!

Best rgds,
