App not working on Google TV streamer, and sound problem with nest mini

Hello. The VTR Play app from Chile isn't working on the TV streamer, even though it's part of the catalog of apps available for Google TV Streamer.

Also, sometimes the Nest mini speaker doesn't reproduce sound properly. When I turn the volume up or down with the remote, it remains at the dame volume until I press one of the speaker's buttons.

Thanks, Juan Barbato

Hi @jpbarbato!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your VTR Play app on your Google TV Streamer and with your Google Nest Mini speaker's volume. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Do you get any error messages when you try to open the VTR Play app?
  • Is your Google TV Streamer's system software up to date? Here is a link that will help you verify: Chromecast and Google TV Streamer firmware versions and release notes.
  • Are other streaming apps working correctly on your Google TV streamer?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps for the VTR Play app specifically?
  • Is the Google Nest Mini part of a speaker group?
  • When you try to turn the volume up or down using the remote, does the volume on your Google Nest Mini change in the Google Home app?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi

Thanks Geremi for responding to my problem. Regarding your questions,

  • The TV streamer's operating system is up to date, as are the apps.
  • The VTR Play app doesn't give an error message; it just launches and closes after two or three seconds.
  • Other streaming apps work fine. I've tried reinstalling the app, changing permissions, and clearing data and cache, but without results.
  • The Nest Mini speaker, it's not part of a speaker group, although I have other Google speakers in other rooms of the house.
  • The speaker issue is rare. Only sometimes happen the error; the volume with the remote control changes onscreen, but the sound remains at the same intensity. Only by physically pressing the volume control on the Nest mini speaker does the volume return to normal or in the Google Home app, and it can be controlled again with the remote control.
  • The volume on Google Nest Mini doesn't change in the Google Home app when this happened.
  • Another audio issue is that when I switch from the Nest mini speaker to the TV sound via HDMI, the volume with the remote control doesn't work at all. I also can't switch the sound back to the Nest mini speaker. I have to restart the Google TV streamer.
Best regards
Juan Barbato

The same problem with the sound even when I turn it up or down, and it appears to be changing on the screen, but the external sound doesn't change, is when I disconnect my Pixel earbuds to de Google TV streamer.
