Audio stutters when playing 1080p 60FPS videos on YouTube

Since the newer updates, all my 3rd gen Chromecasts are starting to have stuttering on the audio, but the video keeps going smooth.

This happens only when I play YouTube videos on 1080p 60FPS quality.

1080p30 works good, as well as 720p60 and all the other resolutions below.

Considering that this cannot be a hardware limitation, as the 3rd gen Chromecast fully supports 1080p videos at 60FPS, is there a way to fix this please?

Hi Andreags4,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand your Nest Chromecast 3rd Gen is starting to have stuttering on the audio, but the video is working perfectly. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Is the TV connected to an external receiver, soundbar, or speakers?
  • Is there any damage to the cable?
  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • Are you casting from a computer, mobile or tablet?
  • Which troubleshooting have you done so far?

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.
