Hello,
I am familiar that I can block channels from you YouTube app and it allows me to select the children's YouTube account. My problem however is that it does not block the channel on my kids profile within Chromecast Google TV.
The profile that utilizes the YouTube Kids doesn't seem to be linked to any Google account. On the YouTube Kids app say on Fire stick or Xfinity Cable box, it utilizes the children's YouTube account and allows to block channels and videos directly from there after verifying an adult or parent is making that request. On the YouTube Kids on the kid's profile only allows you to flag videos but it give no option to block a video or channel. Even if reporting a video for the reason of "Other" it'll still play other videos from that channel.
I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if this something that hasn't been looked at by Google. I would've just hoped the YouTube Kids on the kids profile would be linked to the YouTube Kids profile I already have for my kids. This also leads to two different curated videos they see say on a tablet, my Chromecast case profile or my Pixel phone YouTube Kids app vs what they see on the YouTube Kids on their Chromecast profile.
I hope it makes sense to whoever reads this and I imagine I'm not the only one facing this issue unless the kids profile on Chromecast wasn't set up correct or something, and I've actually deleted one and recreated thinking that might've been the issue.
Thanks

Having the same problem. Seems like they removed it from the kids app in order to make people use the kids profile on the YouTube app. But the kids profile on the YouTube app let's them accèss my content if they want to, and that's the whole reason for having a separate app! C'mon google.

I’m in the same situation, I can’t believe that I can’t use the same Youtube Kids account since I’m already using my Google Profile linked to Chromecast. Now, trying to setup the YouTube Kids one more time I noticed a advice that, “Videos that are blocked on other devices can still be played on this device”. Why? I want to be able to allow only channels I want and not use that poor Google classification (Preschool, Younger or Older), I’m sorry, but that classification doesn’t work for nothing.

Hey there everyone,
I apologize for the late response, and thank you all for being patient! The YouTube Kids app on the Chromecast with Google TV is something that the Chromecast team is currently looking into. If you don't mind, would you be able to submit feedback via Google TV to let Google know about the need for this blocking feature? Google takes all feedback seriously, and the more that they receive regarding a specific feature, the more likely they are to prioritize it.
I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.
Best regards,
Jeran

This has been a Chromecast with Google TV issue for a while - and since there's a message directly commenting on the inability to block channels - this is a feature and not a bug. But why? I can block YouTube kid channels on my Nvidia but not on the Google created hardware.

Hey everyone,
I'm just checking up on this thread. Does anyone have any more questions that I can address?
Thank you,
Jeran

My only question would be "Can we expect this to be fixed?"
This is a big part of why we still have YouTube premium.

Same question here as to when can we expect this to be resolved?
I have submitted feedback via Chromecast but I can't help but feel that is going into some empty void as I don't even a confirmation that feedback was submitted.
It just doesn't make sense to me as YouTube Kids app works as expected with a liked children's account on other platforms that are NOT owned by Google such as Amazon Fire Stick or an Xfinity cable box.

This needs to be addressed immediately. We need to be able to block videos or channels. We need to be able to remove individual videos from watched history and recommended section. There is a channel that creates videos that has a man wearing the Guy Fawkes mask and it is scaring my young kids. And these videos are showing up even with content restricted to 4 years old and younger.

Yes, the "curated content" has a lot of garbage in it. At this point I've just uninstalled the app and refuse to use it till they've fixed it.

Same here. Youtube Kids app for Chromecast with Google TV doesn't allow the kid's profile to use full parental controls. It's useless for me as long I'm not able to share or block content for my kids! Please fix asap.
