Hi everyone.
I connected Chromecast HD to network with USB Ethernet adapter using USB hub with PD. Network works fine and much more stable than with Wi-Fi connection. But now I have a problem with bluetooth connections. I'm using bluetooth speakers which keep disconnecting randomly and also original remote control is getting disconnected. I tried 2 different Ethernet adapters, one from Apple and one from TP Link. It happens with both. I tried also 2 different power adapters with 5V/3A because I was thinking it might be a power problem. I tried to connect it to power bank which shows also actual voltage and current and I found out it doesn't even drain more 1A so there should be no issue with power. Bluetooth is stable only with disconnected Ethernet adapter. Does anyone have some idea how to fix this?
Thank you in advance.

Hi xbobak,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Connecting external USB hubs for storage expansion or peripheral devices to a Chromecast with Google TV is a hit or miss. These kinds of setups aren’t intended for the general use of Chromecast with Google TV. There’s no guarantee that they will work. Some users managed to pull it through, but we don’t normally recommend it as it may affect how the Chromecast device works. Kindly check out this basic guide: Move files from and to your Chromecast with Google TV.
Since your main reason for connecting it via USB hub is to utilize Ethernet connectivity, why don’t you purchase an Ethernet adapter for Chromecast with Google TV in the Google Store?
I hope this helps. Let us know if you have questions or concerns with your Chromecast device.
Thanks,
Kimy

Hello Kimy.
Thanks for your answer. I didn't know USB hub could be such a problem for Chromecast with Google TV. I read the basic guide you suggested, but I miss there information what is compatible USB-C hub. But as you wrote, it is a hit or miss.
I would even buy that Ethernet adapter, but Google Store is not available in Slovakia. So no luck even here.
Anyway the information regarding USB hub is useful. I'll try some different hubs and maybe I'll be lucky 🙂
Thanks and have a nice day.

Hello xbobak,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, that will just be a guide, but indeed, it’s hit or miss. As for the Ethernet adapter for Chromecast with Google TV, there might be third-party resellers in your country that sell it, although the warranty will be covered by the resellers as well.
Let us know if you need further assistance.
Cheers,
Kimy
