Bluetooth won't conect JBL Headphones

Gerrad

I have tried several time unsuccessfully to pair my JBL LIVE660NC to my Chromecast with Google TV. It keeps on failing to pair.

I have removed all other BT devices except the remote and have even attempted a factory reset of the Chromecast, still with no success.

The headphones connect to all my other devices with no issues and I can connect other devices to the Chromecast.

Surely someone has the solution to this issue.

What you have to do is move really slow when setting up a bluetooth earbuds or headset. The good thing you only have to do it once and then it can connect automatically after. Make sure you headphone are turn on and ready to pair and it is close to the chromcast. The go to Setting > Remote & Accessories > Pair remote or Accessory. Then it will start searching and your headphone pop up. Do not click on it yet. Wait about 30 sec then click on it. Then you will be ask to pair or cancel. Do not press pair right away you will have to wait a while. This take different amount of time each time I test it out so just press the down button on the remote until you see the selector can move down to cancel. Now do not click cancel just move back up and select pair. That is it. I had to do that from when I got the chromecast a year ago and it still have the same problem so it something that google will never fix. Sometime it take up to 3 tries and it works. Hope this help. Also just make sure your headphone are not connected to any other device just turn off bluetooth on your other devices.

@AzielAugust1000 I tried your work around, however after waiting 30 second and selecting the device I did not get an option to pair or cancel, it just started  pairing straight away. Still with no success of connecting. Any other thoughts??

you can plug out the chromcast for a min and then plug it back in also turn off the head set and turn it back on and try again. If not then the last resort would to factory rest again.

Hiya Gerrad,

That's no good to hear. Just to double-check, is your Chromecast with Google TV and JBL headphones firmware both up-to-date? If so, a simple reboot may help. If it doesn't, you may want to speak with Chromecast Support. If you want to speak with them, just fill out this form, and they'll contact you via e-mail. Just let me know if you decide to fill out that form or if you have any more questions.

Best regards,

Jeran
