My CCwGTV 4K received the latest update UTTC.241218.004, now I have Android 14.
This update broke playback of direct live TV stream in all the apps. It looks that all the h.264 FullHD streams are affected. The playback is like slow motion with judder and audio out of sync. All these apps worked perfectly fine before the update. Many users report the same (Reddit).
Source is DVB-C, TS stream from my cable TV provider.
Is this a known problem from Google's side? All the devices still on Android 12 are perfect.

Hey all,
Thank you for your patience with this. The fix for this issue is now rolling out (build UTTC.250917.004). While the update will reach all users automatically over the next several weeks, you can manually download the latest update by following these instructions.
I hope this information helps.
Best regards,
Jenny

Everyone should stop buying equipment from Google, I recommend HOMATICS Box R 4K Plus.
I had two CCwGTV, one was ruined by an update, now I recommend HOMATICS to everyone

This is a good device, unfortunately it has a problem on A14. If you use IPTV or watch terrestrial or cable TV channels (via USB dongle) some channels are wrongly recognized as 60Hz instead of 50Hz. At the moment there is no device that is completely bug-free. Android 14 has some problems on every device.

I have Homatics box r 4k plus android 12 and 5.4.242 kernel and I have no problem with IPTV

Read carefully again what I wrote. There are other problems on android 12, just read the support group on telegram.

Yes, but a lot of us here just want our device to stream DVB-T2 and very little else. Something like the Homatics box r 4k plus might be the best all round solution PROVIDED we can block A14 from being pushed through automatically.

I only received the update on my Chromecast Google TV 4K today, June 27, 2025. Since then, there have only been errors — the picture stutters on Live TV, Netflix, Disney+, and others. Please fix this. Android 12 was much better.

Hi,
Information sent. The latest update did not resolve the issue.
06-30-2025 08:27 AM
Yes, I can confirm that. It hasn't worked since Android 14. Live TV

Still no luck with update? Guys, its really frustrating!
07-09-2025 01:34 PM
Throw away the crap. Google has programmers who have been through remote learning, they don't know anything, don't expect a fix. The broken one suits them, they count on buying a new one.

Would do that immediately, trust me, but that's not the way of solving this problem 😕
It's really a no way out situation. 😕

@GoogleNestTeam it's not funny at all.
It's been a while since the first person here wrote his problem.
Most of them have issue with h.264 codec. It's practically useless now to use this stick. Cmon!

I sent the logs, feedback again, as you asked for. Please do something, it is really making the device unusable.

@GoogleNestTeam we are still wating for Your participation. You have to fix this problem. Do not be indifferent. People are wating for You actions!

Waiting for the update!

How was Google comfortable pushing this update when deinterlacing was still broken? This is one of the most basic requirements for any TV streaming device, and it is surprising that ATV14 was released without such a fundamental capability being verified. For testing: Google devs need access to real DVB-T2 1080i25 H.264 content. The simplest reproducible setup is to use an HDHomeRun Flex Quattro (or similar) with an OTA antenna in Europe, and stream into an ExoPlayer-based client. Without DVB-T2 input, this issue will not reproduce in the US.
Can you please confirm whether these tests are actually being run in Europe with DVB-T2 input, or are the devs only US-based? Without testing real interlaced DVB-T2 content, the issue will never be reproduced or resolved.

They don't need a real DVB-T2 stream at all to reproduce this, it reproduces just fine 1080i/25 mkv sample from Kodi's wiki.
09-14-2025 03:15 AM
Well, would you have expected them to know that??
08-29-2025 01:46 AM
Can you please give us at least new update of current status? Last one was almost month ago.

When can we expect you will fix that? It's almost October...

2 months later and still nothing. Beyond a joke. I was a user of a considerable number of google hardware devices both personally and professionally. Never will I invest in google hardware again.
