Can't cast YT to TV Streamer - untrusted device

Idefixx

I can't cast YouTube anymore from my smartphone (Samsung s24 fully up to date) to my Google TV Streamer (UTTK. 250729.004)

Untrusted device

Living Room TV couldn't be verified. This could be caused by outdated device firmware.

I have already factory reset my TV Streamer, but the issue is still there.

Hello @Idefixx

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand that you are unable to cast YouTube to your Google TV Streamer (4K) using your Samsung Galaxy S24 and are receiving the error message "Untrusted device." I appreciate the troubleshooting you have already performed. Don't worry; I'm here to help.

To gather further details and determine the optimal resolution, could you please answer the following questions?

  • When did the issue start?
  • Are you experiencing this issue with all casting apps or only with YouTube?
  • Are you using the latest version of the Google Home app?
  • Do you have a YouTube Premium account?
  • How far is the Google streaming device from the Wi-Fi router?
  • How far are you from the TV when trying to cast?
  • Is your internet connection stable?
  • Have there been any recent changes to your router settings?
  • Can you confirm whether your streaming device and your smartphone are linked to a 2.4 GHz or a 5 GHz WiFi network?

Any additional details you can provide would be helpful.

Regards,

Daniel

Hello

When the issue started is unclear, but it worked before with the same setup. Casting from VLC on my Android works.
When i surf on my laptop to Youtube in Chrome on Windows 11, the casting tab mentions "Available for specific video sites".
All my apps on my smartphone are up to date. I don't have a YT premium account.

The Google TV Streamer is connected with LAN cable, casting worked before.
Internet and wifi/LAN connection is stable.

There are no recent changes to my router settings.

My smartphone is connected with Wifi 7 at 6Ghz.

Thank you for your help.

Regards
