Hi there,
This week, I purchased 'Command Z', a new series from Steven Soderbergh you can purchase from a dedicated website.
The episodes are hosted on Vimeo and embedded on the web pages, which you get access to once paid. However when hitting the casting button, I can select the Chromecast and Vimeo logo appears on the TV's screen, but it immediately crashes before playing the video and Chromecast returns to it's home screen.
I have now tried this repeatedly on 5 different Chromecasts at both my friend's and my own place from multiple devices, but the result remains the same.
Contacted their support, but they claim the problem is not on their end but with Chromecast.
Anyone any idea what can be causing this or how to troubleshoot? Excited to watch this series, but would rather on a TV vs my phone's screen.

Hi rubenzep,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. A few questions: what Chromecast device are you using? Is this happening with other apps or webpages? When you’re casting, are you using the cast icon from the webpage or the cast option in the Chrome browser menu (the 3 dots at the top right)? Based on your description, I don’t think five Chromecast devices are all having issues at the same time. I don’t think it’s related to WiFi since you’ve tried it at your friend's house too. It’s more of an encryption on most contents, especially the rented/purchased ones. These contents are intended to play on the specified platform (mobile app, webpage from a browser, etc.). The moment you cast it, something triggers copyright protection for the particular content, as casting reflects rebroadcasting away from its specified platform. I hope this clarifies the confusion. Let us know if you still have questions.
Thanks,
Kimy
