I have seen a lot of posts with my problem but I have not yet found a solution given that has worked.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S22.
I have a Google Chromecast 2nd Generation.
I am using the same WIFI network.
I can use the Google Chromecast when connecting to Disney +, Paramount +, Discovery +, Netflix, Hulu, and any other tv app that has the cast screen option in the app itself.
Because I have an Android phone, I don't have access to Apple TV app. Therefore, I have to watch it in a browser instead.
When I open Google Home app, I can select my TV. I choose to cast but I get the error "Your device is not optimized for casting, you may experience..." I do not have the Power Saver on. I deleted the cache in multiple apps. Regardless of what I have tried, I see my screen show up on the TV for a few seconds (just like other people have said) and then the video freezes and only the audio continues.
It doesn't have to be Apple TV, any video that I try to cast by going through the Google Home app freezes but the audio continues.
I am going to post this and then get the firmware version of my 2nd Generation Chromecast and reply to this message.

Hi Indy1973,
Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. I suggest you clear the cache and data for the Google Home App. If it persists, uninstall it, then reboot your phone before reinstalling it. Ensure that your phone’s software is up-to-date.
You can also open Apple TV from the Chrome browser on your computer. The right way to cast from a computer using the Google Chrome browser is by clicking on the three dots located on the top right of the browser, then choosing the option “Cast” from the dropdown. Just remember that the Chrome browser app on mobile devices is not a cast-enabled app since it’s not as complete as the one you install on computers.
I hope this helps. Let us know if you have other questions.
Thanks,
Kimy
