When I turn on my Chromecast, there's often an app already running - like I turned it off without exiting the app. Seems kind of random, sometimes it's Hulu, sometimes Netflix - lately, it's been my local news channel app. With the other apps, it's not really a huge problem, but the local news app always seems to think it's the previous day, when this happens. I have to go into settings and force quit the app and restart it or it will only show me videos from the previous day and not the latest news. Not the way I want to start my day, every day.
What is going on here? I'm absolutely, 100% certain that I return to the homescreen before I turn Chromecast off. I don't get any startup screen for the news app - it's like it's been on for hours from the previous day, despite turning off the Chromecast. Is there any fix for this at all?

Hi @wiscoman,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that your Chromecast device automatically runs an app every time you turn it on. This forces you to quit the apps and restart them, otherwise apps like the local news app will show you videos from the previous day. This doesn't sound like something to expect, especially when you return to the home screen before turning off your Chromecast. I'm happy to assist you.
Please provide the information requested below to better understand the reason for this:
In the meantime, I recommend that you clear the cache of the affected apps on your device and check for app or system updates by following the steps below:
Keep me posted.

yesterday
-I have a Chromecast HD with Google TV. It's maybe two years old.
-It might have started 6 months ago, but I'm not entirely sure.
-I'm pretty sure I have changed some settings, although I couldn't tell you what those changes were. At any rate, I haven't changed anything recently, so there would have been quite a lag time between making these changes the problem beginning.
-So far, all I've done is check to see if it's up to date. There are no updates available.
