My projector is Xiaomi Laser Cinema 2 that fully supports 4K at 60Hz but my Chromecast allows me to set the max best display to 4K 30hz ?! Any ways to manually override it ?
Thanks

Change the HDMI input port.
I would suggest you first try to contact Xiaomi suport and report the issue.

Tried all of them but had no luck at first. Then I've noticed in the menu for the input you can set HDMI mode, was on Auto (which I would have guessed would pick the highest) but was picking up 1.4 only. After changing to 2.0+ it was ok.
Thank you for you response.

Ok, I've noticed that Xiaomi has the default setting on the HDMI port set to "Auto" but once changed to 2.0 or 2.1 Chromecast detected it correctly then. Not sure why Auto picked up 1.4 as default.
Thanks

You changed it from 1.4 to 2.0 in projector settings or Chromecast settings?

On the Xiaomi side. Can't remember exactly where it was but try to switch to HDMI input where you have your Chromecast plugged in, then short press the "hamburger menu button", setting will slide from the top and that's where you need to change it.

Unlike vajnorcan I have a projector where there is no such menu or option to switch HDMI input , only HDMI 1 and hdmi 2 as source. How would I do this ?

Hi Vormir,
Thanks for the response. A few things: Which Chromecast device? Is your projector Xiaomi too? Check this helpful link.
Keep me in the loop.
Thanks,
Juni
