Chromecast with Google tv remote jumps multiple items on one click

My Chromecast with Google TV remote skips 4 or 5, or even more, items upon one click. If I were to use the remote to forward a YouTube video, it moves all the way to the end. It's extremely annoying, to the point where I feel like throwing the Chromecast and its remote in the trash can. This has been going on for 2 years. I even swapped the remote with a new one, but it didn't fix the issue. Google got only one thing right, and that was its search engine and Android. Anything else they touched, such as tablets, phones, and watches, all turned out to be garbage. 

Google needs a new leadership.
