Hi there, on the 9th March, my chrome cast Gen 2 malfunctioned like many others across the world so I decided to upgrade. Today I bought a Google Tv Streamer 4K at 3 times the price of the original chrome cast but upon trying to connect it to Wi-Fi, I get a similar error message as I was getting with the Chrome cast…
With my Gen 2, the Google Home was saying “we couldn’t authenticate your chromecast” then I bought this new one and…now the Google Home is saying “could not communicate with your Google TV Streamer”
Does anyone know how I could fix this or could it be that this authentication malfunction is affecting the Google TV Streamers 4K also.
Thankyou in advance for any advice.

Hi @PenMac!
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Google TV Streamer won’t connect to the Google Home app, and you’re getting the error message “Could not communicate with your Google TV Streamer.” I'm happy to help you!
To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:
What device is used to complete the setup, and what's the OS version (iOS or Android)?
Is the Google Home app up to date?
What's the TV brand and model?
How far is the streaming device from the Wi-Fi router?
Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.
Best regards,
Geremi
