if I use a HDMI 2.1 cable with the new Google TV Streamer. I will have a constant blinking screen.

The screen will flash blank over and over, multiple ports and cables tried.

Normal HDMI cable works fine.

Hi Advancedbox,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing a constant blinking screen when using an HDMI 2.1 cable with your new Google TV Streamer. The screen flashes blank repeatedly, despite trying multiple ports and cables. I appreciate you letting me know that you were able to resolve this inconvenience using a standard cable.

To better assist you, please answer the following questions:

  • What is the make and model of your TV set?
  • Could you please confirm if the non-functional HDMI 2.1 cable is the Google Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable?
  • Could you please let me know if the HDMI cable you tried is an HDMI 2.1 Type A cable?

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Virna

Hi Virna,

Thanks for getting back to me - I've answered below:

  • What is the make and model of your TV set? LG G2
  • Could you please confirm if the non-functional HDMI 2.1 cable is the Google Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable? It's a cable from Amazon https://amzn.to/3Yczrfa I've also tried a cable matters brand.
  • Could you please let me know if the HDMI cable you tried is an HDMI 2.1 Type A cable?  I'm not sure

Hey Advancedbox,

Thanks for sharing that helpful info. I appreciate you keeping me in the loop. So let’s explore some troubleshooting steps.

  • Use another HDMI port.
  • If the trouble persists, try to connect your Google TV Streamer to another television to check if the same behavior is happening.
  • Additional information Try to reboot your Google device. For your reference, check out this article: Reboot your Chromecast device

I'll look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Daniel
