Google Voice Assistance launches app, but won't start playing shows on Chromecast.

I recently purchased a Chromecast HD and a Google Nest Mini 2nd Generation - when I use the voice assistance on the Nest Mini to try to play a show on the Chromecast, it will launch the app and take me to the show, but it will not play.

With my previous hardware (an older Chromecast from before the advent of Google TV and an older Nest Mini) it would take me straight to the show and resume playing where I left off. The voice commands I'm using are the same.

The accounts match across all devices, and the Chromecast is set as the default TV for the Nest. I've also tried linking and unlinking the streaming accounts (I've tried this with Netflix and Disney+ so far).

Hi joyeuse,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. Since all of the steps you tried didn’t help, let’s try to start from the beginning. Try to factory reset both devices and reinstall the Google Home app. Login through the Google Home app and link the services. Complete the setup for both devices. Test the individual functionality of both devices first before the cross-functionalities. Let us know if it still shows the same behavior.

Thanks,

Kimy
