Hello,
I have consistenly been having issues with chromecast with google tv 4k. Many of the apps experience video playback that is not smooth. Every few seconds the video will lag or stutter slightly. I have tried multiple different refresh rates and none of them seem to make a difference.
The native apps on my Samsung tv have much smoother video playback. Obviously I would use the tv apps but there are many features of the Chromecast with google tv that I enjoy.
I have factory reset multiple times (usually to fix other issues as well), but this issue never goes away.

Hi folks,
Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. The patch update for late December to early January is still rolling out, and this is for stuttering issues after the last update. In a few days, it will reach completion. Kindly give it a few days, and we appreciate your understanding.
Thanks,
Kimy

Ok esperamos el parche. Se va a solucionar también el ajuste automatico de frecuencia. Es decir que el chromecast seleccione la frecuencia correcta en función del contenido? Gracias

Hi galager,
Thanks for the reply. The frequency (30Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, etc.) can be set manually or automatically both on the Chromecast device and/or the TV. But if you set it manually from the TV settings, even if the content can run at a higher frequency and resolution, the TV will still display based on what it was set to. I hope this clarifies the difference depending on the settings.
Let us know if you have other questions or concerns.
Cheers,
Kimy

Hello galager,
You can try in Settings > Display and Sound > Resolution and choose from the available options. You can also go to Settings > Display and Sound > Advanced Display Settings > Format Selection and choose your preference.
I hope this answers your question. Keep us posted if you still have any.
Warmly,
Kimy
