No picture when turned on, need to be disconnected from power every time

The Chromecast 4K TV light is continuous white (not dimmed white). It means it is connected to WiFi. Then I turn it on from the remote, and it sends a signal to the TV, which turns on, but no signal message appears on the TV. I remove the USB cable from Chromecast, put it back, and there is a signal on the TV with a picture of Chromecast booting. Then, when I turn Chromecast off and turn it on, everything is OK. I try after 5–10 minutes to turn it off and on, and everything is okay. But I think when it goes to sleep (the sleep timer is set to 30 minutes), it won't send a picture when turned on, so I have to remove the USB cable again. It is brand new, just purchased, and it was automatically updated when I first turned it on. I used to have Chromecast 2 before that; there were no problems with the same TV set (LG). Original usb cable and adapter is used to connect CCwGTV to power outlet. I tried to make it not go to sleep, but when it turned off and on after a while it won't show signal. I also tried factory reset, but no use of that.

I found that many people has same problem. Like them, I am not sure is it hardware or software problem.

Hi Superfrog,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. I read that Reddit post you shared, and it was describing the previous bug that has been resolved with the October fix patch. That is an issue where the TV will only display a black screen or no signal upon turning on after the Chromecast device has been turned off overnight after use. Your case may be similar but not the exact bug since yours is related to its standby mode (sleep), which triggers upon reaching the timer condition. Try to disable the timer instead and observe if the behavior persists. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kimy

It is exactly as described on Reddit.

First things first. So, my hardware is okay, not broken? No need to ask for repairs?

Second, I bought it maybe two weeks ago, and I updated it immediately and did a factory reset only once.

I tried 24 hours of sleep and even no sleep. I also tried through Philips Hue Sync and TV directly. Same problem. If I use CCwGTV to watch something, it works like a charm while in use, but when I leave it on the home screen and switch to another HDMI input and leave it like that, it just switches from bright white to dim white. At that point, I switched it back on with a dedicated remote and no picture. I will count the minutes before that happens, but it happens very fast. Under 2 hours, maybe even under 1 hour. I will send the exact number in my next post.
