ZB iPhone Datum Manuel auf 8. März stellen, dann zurückgesetzten Chromecast einfach wieder neu anmelden. Erstaunlicherweise hat dies bei mir funktioniert. Hoffe das hilft auch anderen. Liebe Grüße

I can't believe that after a week, my Chromecast is still completely useless because of Google's expired certificate. The worst part? I did a factory reset before they bothered to tell people NOT to do it. Now my device is permanently bricked, all because of their amateur-level mistake.
This is absolutely unacceptable from a company that claims to be at the forefront of technology. How can a tech giant fail to manage something as basic as a certificate renewal? It's embarrassing. Total disgrace.
I've had enough. I'm buying a Firestick, and Google can go screw themselves.

Nah, it's not permanently bricked.
Just do this:

From the Google Home app on your phone, you need to re-add your Chromecast as a device.

My Chromecast won’t set up. It gives me an error message saying that the country I’m in is not supported, as if the Chromecast isn’t made for this country. But I’ve been using it here for a long time. It’s only after I reset it that it stopped working.

I factory reset mine before seeing this message, but got it to work again today. Here’s what I did:
1. Updated google home app from App Store. (iPhone)
2. Adjusted my phones date to be 2024 (turn off auto time update in settings, then change date)
3. in Google home, add device and connect it to your network.
4. Chromecast will install several updates and reboot a couple of times.
5. When Chromecast is finished updating, it will do an error on Google home. Ignore it, and your tv will show the Chromecast idle display.
6. Go back to date and time and turn on auto update
7. Open any app and switch to your Chromecast device and it will be fine.
May not work for everybody, but this is a lot easier than some of those Reddit hacks.

I've already tried to factory reset my device as it's been almost a week without being able to use it. I was not aware of a backend bug until now. Please advise me on my next steps

This whole problem and Google's lack of communication and slow response is ridiculous... I've already replaced mine with the Xiaomi S TV boxes.
Hasta La Vista Google.
