Steps to get a faster fix for chromecast issue:
I you have a pixel device you get priority support. Go to your settings on phone.
-> Tips and support (prob last thing in settings)
-> Contact us
-> (subject) chromecast not connecting
-> when asked what device, select your phone model.
-> request a call back
-> when they call, tell them you have tried resetting etc it's a world wide problem, everyone around the world is reporting on Google forums, reddit etc that chromecast are off line and won't connect etc.
The person you speak to will email the Google chromecast team with your email address etc and they have to get back to you within 24 hours.

Happening in Australia as well.
03-14-2025 08:44 PM
Australia: Yay🌼, my Chromecast Gen 2 is alive again!!! I just completed the date wind back to 7 March 2025 in Settings on my Nokia phone (Android Version 14), ran Google Home to reconnect my Chromecast to my WIfi and dumb TV, saw an update progress bar on the TV (never seen before). Google home: "set up says it has a problem, update is taking longer than expected". I wait 5 minutes no change, enter Help Centre none of the options fit me, exit Setup and put the date back to automatic. Open Google Home again and my Chromecast connected to my dumb TV is listed 👋. Casting via my phone is working. 😺

Same here from Las Vegas, NV. I have my product Serial Number. I've rebooted 5 times to no avaiil. Someone mentioned to me that Google is deactivating the Chromecast devices of people who've been critical of Israel on Youtube or otherwise. Let me know what you think.
03-09-2025 08:11 PM
Google...does not care. Have any of you received any notice from Google saying anything about this issue? Time to dump Google.
03-09-2025 08:20 PM
