I had done a factory reset. I cannot update the google home app as I am on an iPhone7 and did not receive iOs 16.1, which your new version of the app requires. Please make the update available for my device as well! I can’t watch anything without my chromecast!

How do you change the date is the question 🤔 ⁉️
03-18-2025 05:11 PM
Go to your phone/iphone/tablet there will be option in settings as clock.change date there.
On your Android phone, open Settings, then: Android 9 select System > Date and Time. Android 8 select General Management > Date and Time. ...
03-19-2025 02:14 AM
Tap on install on your iPhone and turn off automatic date and change the date to March 7th
03-18-2025 04:02 PM
Roll it out to all, this is 2025 & I've been down for almost 2 weeks. This is ridiculous. Google needs to do better!!
03-18-2025 04:36 PM
Already resolved my issues by changing the date of your phone by March 1 2025 , then continue set chromecast by google home
03-18-2025 04:35 PM

Não estou conseguindo conectar
03-18-2025 05:13 PM
Great. Did a factory reset days before Google posted about NOT doing it, fixed it by changing the date etc etc, everything worked just fine. All of a sudden just now, chromecast didn’t work again while streaming. Got an e-mail from Google just now (about time) stating that they fixed the issue, aaaaand everything’s back to not working again. Seriously?

There's isn't a tile on my Google home for the Chromecast. Since it won't recognize my device so that it can be set up to check the firmware version, I'm still without service!!! Please provide an alternative for the gen2 Chromecast devices that were reset. I also tried backdating before March 9th but that didn't work for me either.
03-18-2025 05:38 PM
you broke my Chromecast Audio , it had been working great for years , now it is dead, thanks v much.
i did not attempt to reboot , factory reset or anything, i simply left it powered on and it died at some point during your blackout , thanks again... i will be reducing google use for here. hopefully i will not be the only one taking steps to reduce my google/apple/usa footprint.
03-18-2025 05:57 PM
Hey guys, I changed the date on my phone to march 1st and then my chrome cast connected and updated. Then I changed it back after the update and it continued to work. Try this if you factory resetted as originally advised.
03-18-2025 06:01 PM
my chromecast isn’t working! We the problem started i tried to update the deciver. When it will be working?
03-18-2025 06:27 PM
It says I need to update app to version 3.30.1.6, but that update is not available in the Play store. It still just has version 3.30.1.5 updated on 2/26/25. When will the new updated version finally be available for download?
03-18-2025 06:53 PM
Google Home for Android 3.30.1.6 has not been made available for an update for me yet. Wonder if I have to wait for a release or something.
03-18-2025 07:08 PM
No se restablecer mi chromecast
"No se puede comunicación con tu chromecast "
03-18-2025 07:13 PM
Still not working for me! Even with the update 🙁
03-18-2025 07:29 PM
After the March 17th updated news and instructions, my Chromecast & Google Home connection still is saying it can't authenticate my Chromecast. I even bought a brand new Chromecast gen 2, and got the same bad news like my old one.
03-18-2025 07:35 PM
Still didn't work
03-18-2025 08:10 PM
I did factory reset my chromecast, so I have made sure that the Home app on my phone has been updated to the required version ( 3.30.106 for iOS). The chromecast however still won't function as it can't get past the 'connecting to the w-fi' step in the setup process. Any suggestions on how to solve this?

MARCH 18th 2025: UPDATE: I don't how in the world I got it to work again, but I finally have prevailed and it's all working again. Although I don't recommend doing what I did, unless you got the time, the money, & the patience on the hoops I had to jump through like Michael Jordan. First off, I bought a brand new Chromecast device, second gen. My old one was a gift and I forgot if it was 1st or 2nd gen on the packaging. Secondly, my Android is where things got wild. I changed the calendar date on my phone, with the Alarm tab, under Clock and Set Date & Time. I changed it March 1st 2025, then took off every option that said 'automatic' or 'automatically'. I then went to my Google Home App. Then did the whole device and connect to device. My flat screen went to code, then connected through the Chromecast number and then my wifi name. The flat screen started saying updating loading, etc and loaded to 100% My phone said linking to Chromecast. Here's the weird part. I didn't hit 'Next' when it said "Linking Chromecast' for it was going at it's own pace, as my Chromecast device connected on my flat screen was already done and said "Almost Done" and loaded up to the atmospheric digital wallpaper and time. I then casted a video on my laptop; which by the way didn't have the changed date like my phone did, and sure enough the flat screen was streaming my video from my laptop. My laptop is a Google Chromebook. I then changed the date back to the current date on my phone. Restarted my phone and sure enough, my Google Home app displayed what I was streaming from my laptop, onto the flat screen. I hope this helps anybody in need. It was a mud wrestle, but I prevailed awkwardly out the gate, and I really hope you all do to; because I'm so not gonna resort to overpriced cable TV packages from my TV provider.
