Sudden issues chromecasting

MadsKjer

Hello
As title suggests I have sudden issues chromecasting. Worked perfectly fine 3 days ago but yesterday I could not cast (Logo does not even appear in Netflix, other apps just can't find it).

TV works fine and I can see the chromecast background images, but whenever I factory reset and connect the chromecast it says:

"Chromecast is configured correctly but was not found. Make sure your mobile device and Chromecast are on the same Wi-Fi network. Turn off AP isolation".

I tried these solutions:
Factory reset Chromecast 5x times - same message

Factory reset router

Ask router company, my router has no AP isolation function. - UPnP is ON

Change wifi names

Change wifi passwords

Change to 2.4 and 5G are running the same and turning 5G off

- Nothing works. It Chromecast officially doomed and I should buy Google TV Streamer?

Hi MadsKjer,

I am sorry to hear that your Chromecast device can’t connect to your WiFi network. Thank you for letting me know the troubleshooting steps that you have performed. This information will guide me in finding an effective solution.

I would appreciate it if you answered the following questions to provide you with better assistance.

What model of Chromecast are you using?

What mobile device are you using to set up your Chromecast device?

How far from the router is your Chromecast device?

Have you tried to connect the Chromecast using another mobile device to set it up?

Are there mirrors, radios, or other devices that require WiFi connectivity near the Chromecast?

Are you using a WiFi hotspot?

Thanks for your kind attention. I will be looking forward to your answer.

Best regards,

Virna

Hi MadsKjer,

Thank you for your prompt response and the detailed information you've shared. It's been helpful in understanding your situation.

Based on the information you provided, I suggest these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check if the Chromecast device is within 15 feet of the setup device and the Wi-Fi router. If the distance of the Chromecast to the router is greater than 10 to 15 feet (4 to 5 meters), it causes issues.
  2. Turn Wi-Fi off, then on from the setup device, then reopen the Home app.
  3. Force close, then reopen the Home app.
  4. Uninstall, then reinstall the Home app.
  5. Turn on Bluetooth.
  6. Use a different device (phone or tablet) for setup.
  7. Connect manually to your streaming device's service set identifier (SSID).
  8. Open your phone’s Settings app.
  9. Tap Wi-Fi to connect to the streaming device's SSID.
  10. Open Google Home.
  11. Set up your device again.

If the instructions provided don’t help you connect your Chromecast 2nd Gen to your WiFi network, please try with the following troubleshooting steps:

Set up Chromecast with a mobile hotspot

  1. On the second device, turn on the mobile data for the internet connection.
  2. On the first device, turn on their mobile hotspot and connect to the second mobile device.
  3. From the first device, open the Google Home app.
  4. Choose the Chromecast to set up.
  5. Follow all the prompts all the way up to the Wi-Fi setup screen.
  6. Select the mobile hotspot as the WiFi network, enter the password for the hotspot network, and then tap the Set Network button.

Please let me know if you found this information helpful. If you require further support, please do not hesitate to contact me.
