Switching Profiles on new Streamer and Youtube App with account for Kids

Currently, I have google accounts setup for my 9 and 11 year old daughters.  When they switch the profile from one kid to another kid or I switch the profile from an adult account to one of the kids account the Youtube app does not retain the sign in information and comes over as an logged off account.  This is very frustrating as my filters for content and ads get are disabled due to the account not being retained in the profile from switching accounts.  Has one else had this issue? or had to discuss political abortion ads with their 11 year old because of the device not holding on to the login?

Hi Andrewpunch,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to hear that the YouTube app does not retain the sign-in information and comes over as a logged-off account when you switch from one profile to another on your Google TV streamer. I understand your frustration with this situation, as it is also causing your content and ads filters to be disabled. No worries; it would be my pleasure to assist you in finding the solution.

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  • Did your daughter's account on the Google TV Streamer 4K or another streamer device previously function successfully with your YouTube app?
  • Have you tried to remove the YouTube app and install it again on your Google TV Streamer 4K?
  • Have you tried to reboot your Google TV streamer?

Thanks for your kind attention; I will be looking forward to your answer.

Best regards,

Virna
