can't connect Chromecast and HOME app dont see it

After resetting router and with a fresh win 10 on pc can't connect Chromecast. Home app did not see it. I can see Chromecast wifi but but it is other connection than the one with net access> I tried everything I could find . Including factory reset.

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. I'd like to dig deeper into this.

 

A few questions: are you trying to set up and connect your Chromecast to the network? If yes, what type of Chromecast device do you have? What's the LED status on your Chromecast? What is the make and model of your mobile phone? How far is your Chromecast from the Wi-Fi router and mobile phone?

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Check if the Chromecast device is plugged into a power outlet, rather than the USB port.
  2. For Android phones, make sure Location Services is on. For iOS devices, make sure Bluetooth and Local Network Access is on.
  3. Manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: go to the phone’s Settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set it up again.
  4. Check if the Chromecast device is within 15 to 20 feet of the setup device and the Wi-Fi router.
  5. If you have a dual band router, check if it's connected to the correct network connection (2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz).
  6. From the setup device, turn Wi-Fi off then on.
  7. Force close and reopen the Google Home app.
  8. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  9. Try to use another supported device to set up the Chromecast device.
  10. Reboot your Chromecast, Wi-Fi router, and mobile phone.
  11. Perform a factory reset. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
