Options for damaged cable on Nest Thermostat E

Annoyingly my puppy has managed to chew through the power cable on our Nest Thermostat E (stand) unit. As the unit is hard wired I am guess I will need to buy a new unit and sync that to the heat link. Are there any other alternatives?
