Google Nest Learning Thermostat won't complete initial connection to heat link

Getting an H71 error at initial setup. Thermostat is connected to WiFi successfully. Heat Link is correctly connected to boiler (and can turn heating off manually just fine) but the two devices won't talk to each other and I get repeated H71 errors. ...
