Apple account no longer linked??

Greeman

My apple music account shows up as linked in the companion app but when I ask to play music the Nest says the account is no longer linked.

I tried playing music with this account in other devices and it works, this is only happening in the nest. Odd enough, when I select “play music” in the companion app, it uses apple music, but when I try to control by voice I get the “no longer linked” response.

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Please let me know.

Best regards,
Garrett DS

I have the same issue. It previously worked and then stopped a couple days ago.Apple Music is not in the already linked section of Google Home anymore. My Google Home app gives me the option to Link Apple Music but won't accept my authentications.  If I select "different account" it goes to a new Apple Page which says "invalid_client". This is from within the Google Home app. I see Google Home authorized when looking from the Apple Music side. I removed it there attempting to reconnect using Google Home but I get the same authentication error. Seems like Google's call to Apple is invalid.

Hello,

The issue still persists. I have tried to unlink the apple account from the home companion app and re-link. I have tried this several times and each time the process seems to be working correctly according to the notifications that I get. However, when I ask the Hub to play music it keeps saying that the Apple account is no longer linked. I have tried restarting the hub as well, but still nothing.

It worked perfectly in the hub until a month ago or so. I have checked and everything from the Apple side seems correct. My subscription is up to date and I can play music from this account in other devices. I have tried to look for answers in internet but none of them match this situation.

Please, let me know if there is anything else I can try.

Thanks,

Alex

Hey there Greeman,

Thanks for letting me know what you have tried and I apologize that you're still having the same issue.

I would suggest reviewing this article and doing a factory reset on your device. Since you've unlinked and relinked your accounts and devices from the app, that would be the next step that I would recommend.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Garrett DS

I removed Apple Music but couldn't reconnect it per my last comment. I have more than one Google Home box and didn't want to reset them based on the fact that I couldn't link Apple via my Google Home app. I just tried to re-add Apple Music via the Home app and it worked. Apple Music is playing again. The only completed action on my part was unlinking Apple Music via the Home app and then re-adding 6 days later.
