Whenever I attempt to add a Starter using my Smart Life contact sensors I'm presented with the options:-
- "Starts or Stops Charging" and
- "Plugged in or Unplugged".
This has always been the case ever since Google Home added the ability to use sensors as a Starter.
I have tried Reconnecting, and even the drastic step of Unlinking the Smart Life app.
Also resetting devices from the Smart Life app didn't have any effect.
I'm thinking that this is a bug that just hasn't been sqashed yet, but may never be sorted out. Until it is I will have to continue to use Alexa for this type of automation.
