Get more out of your devices with Google Home

The Google Home app gives you expanded controls for compatible smart home devices across different brands. Control the rotation and speed of your compatible fans directly in the Home app, or see more data from sensors in your home, all in one place. Coming soon to Public Preview.

More automation capabilities*

Use camera events as starters and create custom notifications in the script editor

The script editor for Google Home helps you easily create powerful automations, and gives you access to capabilities that are not yet available in the Google Home app. Your advanced automations can now do even more to make a helpful home, thanks to Google intelligence.Use camera events like “package delivered” to initiate automations and write custom notifications to keep your household informed. Available now in Public Preview. Learn more here.

 

Generative AI can now help you automate your home

The script editor can help you easily create personalized automations using natural language prompts thanks to a limited-time, experimental feature called help me script. You can type prompts like, “When it’s sunset, turn on my lights and close the blinds,” and the tool will generate an automation script that you can customize and apply to your home, without requiring technical expertise. This is rolling out starting today as a limited-time experimental feature in Public Preview on Google Home for web. Learn more here.

New automation starters and actions for the Google Home app.

Using the Google Home app, new starters and actions will be available for Household Routines. These will allow you to build Routines that start when someone is in a specific room, use the humidity level or temperature to start an automation, open and close blinds as part of your Routines, and more. For example, every night at 10 PM, you can have your blinds close, lights gradually dim, humidifier set the humidity level, and doors lock, all as part of one automation. Learn more here.

 

Nest Thermostat update

Seasonal savings. Now on all Nest thermostats. 

Now the Nest Thermostat can take advantage of Seasonal Savings. When you opt in to the program, your thermostat will analyze your schedules at the start of summer and winter, and make small changes that help you maximize savings all season long.

More features for your Android devices

Bringing the home panel to more of your devices with Android 14.

The home panel gives you quick access to your Spaces and Favorites directly from your lock screen. Control your lights, cameras, speakers, and other smart home devices with just a tap. Available on Pixel devices and coming soon to other Android devices with Android 14. 

 

Get to your favorite entertainment faster with Google TV. 

With the Google TV widget now available on more Android devices, you can quickly find what to watch next right from your home screen. You can also use your phone or tablet as a remote for fast, easy access to the shows and movies you love.
