both Camera and doorbell video say offline.
Rebooted the router they are on. no change.
They have been working for years. This is a first time event

Google hub responds when doorbell is rung but says that video is offline.

Nest thermostate can be accessed.

Hi PHS,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that your camera and doorbell went offline. A few questions:

  1. Has the device ever been connected to their Wi-Fi network before?
  2. Does it show offline in the Nest or Google Home app or indicated on the Nest device?
  3. Are other non-Nest devices in the home offline?
  4. Can the device find or detect other networks?
  5. Has there been any recent change in the home Wi-Fi network?
  6. Is the Wi-Fi router or access point within a reasonable range (1 to 15 meters) of between three to fifty feet from the Nest devices?

Keep us posted.

Best,

Zoe

They are both online again. Assuming that Google did something.
They were some of the very 1st devices added to this network years ago.
Was Offline in the nest and google home
Have 42 devices on this network including a Nest thermostat (which did not have any issues).
Network has been stable for years with 0 changes.
Have several Orbi Mesh routers and the nest cameras are all less than 10 feet from all routers

Hi there,

It's great to hear that your Nest Doorbell (Battery) and other devices are back online. If the devices were previously offline and have now reconnected, it's possible that there was a temporary issue with the network connectivity or a glitch in the device's software.

Network connectivity can occasionally be affected by various factors, even in stable setups. It's possible that a temporary network disruption, firmware update, or other factors could have caused the devices to temporarily lose connection. If your network has been stable for years and you haven't made any recent changes, it's encouraging to see the devices back online without any further issues. However, if you encounter any recurring connectivity problems or notice any unusual behavior, it may be worth monitoring the situation.

In general, maintaining a stable Wi-Fi network signal strength is important for optimal device performance. If the Nest Cameras are located within close proximity to your Orbi Mesh routers, it should help ensure a strong and reliable connection. You may also consider verifying that your routers are running the latest firmware version to mitigate any potential compatibility or performance issues.

I hope your devices continue to operate smoothly, but if you have any further concerns or encounter any ongoing issues, let us know.

Regards,

Zoe
