Doorbell battery

NickR9018

I have had my Google nest battery doorbell for approx 6 months now and was working fine until yesterday when the camera went off line.

I followed all the troubleshoots and finally decided to press the reset button to put it back to factory settings.

In hope that the reset would allow me to set the doorbell up from scratch again I followed the set up options but cannot get pasted the connecting to WiFi set up for some reason it won't link to my WiFi. My WiFi has not changed position, other systems are running off the WiFi correctly, I have tried removing some of the other systems to allow more capacity and also rebooted my router several times.

When reading the set up options and plugging in the charger it tells me the door bell is fully charge but the light remains white and doesn't flash blue.

A lot of us are having similar issues. Latest app update is broken I believe. Camera lights are still reacting as normal and appear to be capturing footage. Just cannot view this in the new app. I started a similar thread as mine have been down for coming up on two weeks.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for posting — let's get this sorted out. Let’s try the troubleshooting steps below.

  1. Save any video history from the device, if any. Follow this guide.
  2. Unmount the device, then connect it to the USB cable and power adapter, if applicable.
  3. Locate the reset pinhole on the device.
  4. Insert and hold the pin (you can use an unfolded paper clip or a thumbtack):
    1. At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
    2. At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the doorbell starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.
  5. Release the button. Your device will restore to its factory settings.
  6. After the factory reset, your doorbell will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it. Also, the status light should be pulsing blue.
  7. To remove it from the app, open the Google Home app, select the device then tap Settings > Remove device > Confirm.
  8. Start adding the device back to the Google Home app, follow the instructions to update the Wi-Fi connection.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Lance

I appreciate the response @Lance_L but for me this is a huge pain. I had my cameras professionally mounted. So now I need to climb up two stories on a ladder to disconnect and reconnect my devices all around my property, because you guys broke an application with a faulty update? That isn’t easy for me as a disabled vet.

Others on here are stating this didn’t fix anything. Unless something has been fixed on the google end? I’ve been in IT for many years. I know all the basics
