Doorbell nest no notifications or recordings unless doorbell button pressed

I have installed my Nest Doorbell Camera but I do not get any notification on my Iphone when the camera picks up a person, car, activity, etc. What do I have to do to get my Iphone to notify me (Ping or noise) when an object is picked up on the camer? I have turned notifications on.

Everything worked with notifications until I took the doorbell off to charge. Now it only ‘turns on’ when the doorbell is actually pressed.

Have tried lots of things but this seems to be a common issue and I can’t get around it.

Have you turned on the events you want recorded AND the ones for which you want to receive notifications under Events | Seen events in your doorbell's Settings in the Google Home app? Are the events being recorded and showing in your history?

Hi,

No one from google has offered any help since this the issue was escalated. The problem still persists. Why isn’t anyone helping?

please hurry up, this is becoming increasingly frustrating.

I just re-read your original post, where you said: "Now it only ‘turns on’ when the doorbell is actually pressed." In this post from yesterday another customer also says they only get notifications when the doorbell is rung:

Perhaps the battery doorbell is not coming out of "Idle" to detect events. We have a battery camera plugged in with the optional power cable, but if we unplug it and then walk in front of the camera, it does NOT wake up out of "Idle" mode and detect the event.  In both cases, that seems a fatal flaw.

yes I have tried all of the above. I’ve sent nearly 4 hours on chats problem shooting. The camera is no recording events even though it’s all turned on. Please actually look at all the things we have tried and why it’s been escalated this far. I’ve done everything asked and the google chat centre has even logged into my best account and have checked my setting. They are turned on, notifications are on but events aren’t being recorded and notifications are not being sent. 

Can you please send a new product?

There should be 10-15 events being recorded each day. The camera doesn’t ‘wake’ up for vehicles, people or animals. I can see the green led light come on but nothing often but nothing is recorded and no notifications are sent. Please find a solution. As stated I’ve spent nearly 4 hours on chat troubleshooting and another 2 hours myself trying find the issue. It’s crazy that I’m having to spend this amount of time on a clearly faulty product. I really just need someone to actually help and stop wasting my time.

The doorbell is still not recording nor sending notifications when something should be alerting me. 
For example when I pull my car in the driveway I can see the green led light come on and also the white led ring around the door button slowly pulse. However nothing is recorded nor any alerts are sent,

All settings for notifications are turned on and even google support has had remote access to my nest account to check this. I was also told the problem had been raised by google support further up the line to give me a resolution however that ‘further up the line’ has never contacted me.

 

I’m starting to believe due to how many complainants about the same thing they have google are very aware of a ‘bug’ or similar but are not acting on it or don’t have a solution to the clear problem with their product,

Hmm…unfortunately still nothing from you or from google customer care despite promises that it would be actioned. Doorbell still not sending notifications when it should??? What’s happening. The product clearly is faulty and it seems a lot of people are experiencing this issue. Can you please send me a new one? 
At the very least follow through on what you say. It’s been more than two weeks since I was told that it had been escalated, however once again nothing happens.

Tbanks for the update, I don’t understand why it has now been over a month since I posted this issues and sat on chat with support. I was promised it had been escalated and given the case number. 

still the product doesn’t work. And you’re not actually doing anything about it?
