Floodlight will not turn off

I have been using my Floodlight for a few months and it has worked flawlessly until now. Last week the floodlights started to be activated 24/7 even with no movement in the backyard. I have checked and double checked all the floodlight settings, but they are correct. I have removed the device and re-installed it, but with the same result.  I have also cleaned the sensor in case it was dirty. I am running out of options. Any advise?

I had a similar problem with my floodlights yesterday.

Earlier in the day I had opened https://home.google.com/ to check out my cameras.  Opened some more tabs to do some other things and then stepped away from the laptop.

When the sun went to sleep my floodlights came on and stayed on.  I checked all the settings all everything looked correct.  Changing the options made no difference.

Went back to my laptop and recalled I had been looking at the cameras earlier.  After closing the tab the floodlights turned off after 30 seconds.

Appears the Google Home for web maintains a connection with the cameras even though the tab is not in focus.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. I am only using the Home app on my phone and no web interface. Still no resolution.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. For motion and motion sensitivity, it'll turn on the lights when the floodlight’s motion sensor detects activity. You can adjust the motion sensitivity settings to determine when the floodlight will turn on.

Give these steps a try:

Live viewing will turn the floodlight on automatically whenever you check your Nest Camera’s live stream at night.

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings > What turns on the floodlight.
  4. Tap the switch next to live viewing to toggle it on or off.

Hit this link for more information and let us know how it goes.

Best,

Emerson

Hi folks,

I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. How's it going with your Nest Camera? Were you able to perform the steps I’m suggesting? Also, have you checked the link I've shared? We'd be glad to hear from you.

Emerson

Hi there,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, we would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let us know.

Thanks,
