Geotagging to turn off Google nest camera

Hello,

Is there a way for the nest camera to recognise when individuals with access to the nest home system do not trigger the camera to record? I feel this would prolong the life of the battery.

My guess, as just another Google Nest customer, is that the geolocation for our phones is nowhere precise enough to do this. Even using Home/Away to turn your camera on and off is not especially precise.

Google Nest says this about how it determines whether we're home or away: "To do this, the app defines a large area around your home that acts like a home zone. Your phone isn’t used to determine when exactly you walk in the door or when you drive out of the garage. The Nest app only gets a notification from the location services of your phone’s OS to determine when you enter or leave your home zone. So for instance, if you walk over to your next door neighbor’s house, your home may not switch to away."

Hey folks,

Dainosaur, Home/Away Assist doesn’t constantly track your exact location, just whether you're home or not, and there needs to be a good distance between you and your home before it will switch modes to Away. Switching to Home is typically quicker, and may have already happened by the time the you walks in the home.
